Spinach is a dark green, leafy vegetable with thick triangular leaves whose surface can be smooth or rippled. It originated in Persia where it was known as aspanakh and later on spread to China and Europe. Spinach stands out for its nutritional value as it is high in vitamins and proteins and contains important antioxidants such as flavonoids and polyphenols.

Our spinach is grown in Macedonia and Thessaly.
When we grow it
It is sown between September and January and harvested between October and April.

Why it is good for us
Spinach is high in proteins which contribute to maintaining our muscle mass and to keeping our bones healthy. It is rich in vitamin A, which contributes to a normal vision and skin. It is also a source of vitamin C, which increases iron absorption, contributes to maintain the normal function of our immune system and to reducing fatigue.
