The chickpea is an annual plant often incorporated into crop rotation programs, which is when various crops are planted in the same field in a particular order. Its Latin name is Cicer arietinum L, and there are mentions of it in Ancient Greek under the name “ereventhi" . Its high nutritional value fuels the body with an abundance of nutrients.
