Research by BARBA STATHIS in collaboration with Prolepsis Institute fills us with optimism about the next generation’s dietary habits!
Research conducted by Prolepsis Institute, in collaboration with BARBA STATHIS, shows encouraging data on the consumption of vegetables and pulses by young students in Greece.
In particular, working under the auspices of the Alimentation & Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program “NUTRITION,” data was collected through questionnaires during the past three school years highlighting that a significant percentage of children aged 4-8 seems to frequently consume vegetables and pulses. The study focused on socio-economically vulnerable areas of the country, with the aim of further investigating the phenomenon of food insecurity.
For the second year in a row, BARBA STATHIS is collaborating with Prolepsis Institute for the shared goal of communicating the nutritional value of vegetables as well as promoting the value of a balanced diet in Greece, especially among children. In addition to backing the Institute’s research work, the company also consistently and diligently supports the “NUTRITION” program and has so far provided 8 tons of spinach for the production of 124,520 pies that were distributed during the past year as a nutritious snack for students in need.
