Arugula (eruca sativa) is an annual, herbaceous plant. It has green leaves known for their spicy, peppery flavor. Originally from Europe and Western Asia, it can be found growing in the wild (wild arugula) and can be cultivated across the Mediterranean region. A natural diuretic and rich in vitamins A and C, arugula is also known for its high calcium and potassium content.
