BARBA STATHIS volunteer group cleans up Axios Delta National Park coastal area
As part of the BARBA STATHIS volunteer program, "Together we do good!” a group of employees took part in an initiative to clean up a coastal area at the Axios Delta National Park in an effort to raise awareness about environmental issues and boost volunteering numbers among their colleagues.
The specific initiative highlights the value of volunteerism and underlines the intention of BARBA STATHIS employees to contribute to their local community through various projects and an action plan. Before starting the clean-up, the volunteers visited the Axios Delta Information Centre "Nikolaos K. Gioutikas” to learn about the particularities of the protected wetland zone and coastal pollution issues.
Equipped with the necessary gear and a great attitude, the volunteers then collected waste from the shoreline, making a tangible contribution to the environmental restoration of one of the most important wetlands in Greece.
