BARBA STATHIS has once again supported the work of charities by donating 350,000 servings of food.
BARBA STATHIS, a member of the Vivartia group of companies, has supported both the Greek family and the Greek economy for more than 50 years. With a sense of responsibility, it has consistently supported those in need by donating its products to charities and food co-ops.
In 2020, society had to weather even greater difficulties due to the pandemic, so the company further reinforced its food donations by giving away more than 70 tons of frozen vegetables and pastry products – the equivalent of 350,000 servings of food – to dozens of charities, such as “Together for Children”, “The Smile of the Child”, “The Chatzikiriakeio Foundation of Child Protection”, and “The Arc of the World”. Meanwhile, the company continues to distribute Barba Stathis fresh salads on a daily basis to various charities in Attica, such as the City of Athens Homeless Shelter (KYADA), to help meet the growing needs created by the pandemic.
Similarly, the BARBA STATHIS company fully covered the meals of residents at the Residential Care Home for the Elderly of Athens for two months, offering two cooked meals per day, fully adapted to the dietary needs of the elderly. The company also supported the City of Xanthi’s “Help at home” program and the soup kitchen program “Table of Love”.
This Christmas, the company has donated not only its products, but also monetary support to the “Together during the Holidays” initiative organized by the “Together for Children” organization, thereby ensuring that forty 4-member families would be able to enjoy a festive meal. In addition, BARBA STATHIS aids its employees in their initiative to donate money to the Greek Children's Village at Filiro, tripling the amount donated by the employees.
BARBA STATHIS has been trusted and loved by Greek consumers for more than half a century, and the company is always ready to take on more challenges and responsibility in keeping with the principles of solidarity, love, and respect for humanity.
